This month we're discussing the 1974 Mel Brooks classic: Blazing Saddles. This western parody centers around a corrupt Governor Lepetomane (played by Brooks himself) who appoints a black sheriff (Clevon Little) to the small town of Rock Ridge. Lepetomane’s plan is to ruin the town so that he can sell the land to the railroad. The newly appointed sheriff becomes Lepetomane’s worst enemy instead of his ally, and hilarity ensues. The film is not currently streaming for free anywhere, but we do have it available for checkout in the library’s collection, and if you have an HBO Max subscription, you may watch it there. We'll be meeting in the large meeting room at 5pm.
